Suburbia Clients Score Big at 2010 Canadian Shopping Centre Awards

VICTORIA, BC – Suburbia Advertising would like to congratulate four clients who received national recognition for excellence in shopping centre marketing from the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) at a ceremony in Toronto on October 6, 2010.
Upper Canada Mall in Newmarket, Ontario was a multiple winner again this year, receiving gold distinction for centres between 750,001 and 1,000,000 square feet in two categories including Customer Service Experience for its Holiday Services Program, “What Yule Want,” and in New Media for its Mobile Concierge iPhone Application. Upper Canada Mall was also awarded a silver distinction in the New Media category for its “Back to School” Mobile campaign.
Coquitlam Centre in Coquitlam, BC was also a multiple award winner this year, receiving silver in the Public Relations category for its H1N1 Christmas program, “Santa Says No-No-No to Germs,” and the ICSC Foundation Canadian Community Support Award for its program, “Unwrapped – A Charitable Night of Shopping.” Coquitlam Centre was also awarded gold distinction for Visual Merchandising for its “Bark Avenue West” pop-up store.
Conestoga Mall in Waterloo, Ontario was recognized for its recent redevelopment with a silver award in the Development & Design category, and a silver award for its Grand Opening advertising campaign, “The Colour of New.”
Rounding out the awards was Hillside Centre in Victoria, BC, who won silver distinction for its Cause Related Marketing program, “Inspire the World” Garden.
Finalists included Mic Mac Mall in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia for its “H&M Grand Opening Campaign.”
